Derek Taylor, our very own foreign exchange expert, is recommending that Travel Money Club members buying Euros this week should target their “Forward Orders” at €1.0950 for a great deal.
The “Forward Order” feature is exclusive to Travel Money Club and allows members to automatically buy currency when their target exchange rate is reached. They simply tell the us what currency to buy, what exchange rate to buy at, and the payment card to use. Then if and when the target exchange rate is reached, we automatically execute the order and deliver next business day* (for orders completed by 1pm). As it all happens in the blink of an eye, even if your target rate is only achieved for a couple of minutes, we will still execute your order!
Derek told us:
As hopes faded for a Eurozone rate rise, the recent rally in the Euro reversed, with Sterling a big gainer.
The Brexit negotiations ended in deadlock, but the recent bout of Sterling weakness appears a bit overdone, and the market has discounted to Brexit gloom.
The focus now switches back to Teresa May, with Parliament returning after the holidays. She need to unify and placate the Tories with clear policies over Europe.
Our range was GBP/EUR 1.0700-1.0900, with a suggestion to buy holiday Euro’s at 1.0850, which was achieved in the latter part of the week. In fact, by Friday, GBP/EUR traded above 1.0900.
Our range has been uplifted a shade to GBP/EUR 1.0750-1.0950.
Events for the coming week to watch out for:
Tuesday 5th, UK PMI.
Thursday 7th at 1.30pm – US Jobless claims.
Friday September 8th at 9.30am – UK Trade figures.
Suggested level to buy holiday Euros:
A good level to buy Euros would be between 1.0900- 1.0950.
Remember, breaking news moves markets!
